Henry Medical Center offers a variety of programs for the medical professional. Instructors are certified to national standards, and conduct these programs on a level consistent with knowledge expectations of today's healthcare provider. Most classes are held on the hospital campus, and costs vary. Regularly scheduled programs include:

  • Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (American Heart Association)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
    • A current BLS card is highly recommended
    • Prior knowledge of basic EKG rhythms expected
    • For licensed professionals with adult patient care responsibilities
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
    • A current BLS card is highly recommended
    • For licensed professionals with pediatric patient care responsibilities
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
    • For licensed professionals with neonatal patient care responsibilities
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor Training (American Heart Association)
    • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Card required
    • Recommendation of instructor/course director of student's healthcare provider course required
  • Basic and 12-Lead EKG Arrhythmia Interpretation
  • Medical Terminology (Dean Vaughn entry level course)
  • Anatomy (Dean Vaughn entry level course)

Education Contact Hours through the Georgia Nurses Association (GNA) are offered throughout the year.  Programs are planned on a variety of topics. Call the Education Department for details.

CME — Continuing Medical Education (CME programs) are offered monthly through the Education Department.  Topics are related to family medicine, and are hosted at the Henry Medical Center Educational Foundation Building on the first Tuesday of each month. Reservations are required for CME programs.
