About Us

Henry Medical Center first opened its doors on July 9, 1979 as Henry General Hospital. It was a small 104-bed hospital providing services to a rural county of just 35,000 residents.
During the 1990s Henry County experienced phenomenal growth in its population. The hospital has undergone the same. In 1995 Henry General Hospital was renamed Henry Medical Center and took on its vision to become the premier hospital on the south side of Atlanta.
Today Henry Medical Center is a 215-bed not-for-profit community hospital where leading edge technology and first class care come together in our centers of excellence in cardiovascular care, orthopedics, surgery, critical care, women’s health, emergency and diagnostics. With more than 400 physicians on staff and nearly 500 nurses, Henry Medical Center is committed to providing high-quality care and outstanding service.
Our Mission
The mission of Henry Medical Center is to maintain and strengthen our leadership position in the operation of a patient-oriented institution for the delivery of quality, cost-effective healthcare and to promote an atmosphere of wellness and preventive medicine to the community we serve.
Our Vision
Henry Medical Center will be widely regarded as the premier hospital on the Southside of Atlanta and will be the hospital of choice by the residents of Henry County based on quality of care and excellence of service.
