The thrill of giving birth is a joy parents always remember. At Henry Medical Center, we want to ensure you have every opportunity to create the best memories possible. The doctors and nurses at Henry Medical Center are committed to making your birthing experience a joyous event.

At Henry Medical Center, we believe that having a baby is one of the most personal - and most memorable - times in a woman's life. That's why we offer a world of choices when it comes to labor and delivery. We want your experience to be as close to what you've envisioned as possible.

Our birthing suites are decorated and furnished with modern equipment for the comfort of both you and your baby. Normally, you'll stay in the same room throughout your labor, the birth of your baby and initial recovery. Each labor/delivery/recovery room has a private bath. Whether you choose to keep your infant in your room at all times or rest while our skilled neonatal nursery staff cares for your child, you and your baby are in capable, caring hands. Of course, the Dad or other support person is always welcome to stay overnight with you.

We also offer a wide variety of birthing options. Midwifery is available through obstetricians on staff. Throughout the experience — from labor to recovery — your own personal nurse will help and support you.

Nowhere else will you find a staff as skilled, compassionate and caring as Henry Medical Center. We work extra hard to make sure the birth of your baby is a positive experience.

In order to promote a safer environment in Labor and Delivery and to protect the privacy of mothers and infants, Henry Medical Center (HMC) has implemented a new policy on the use of photographic equipment. HMC will no longer use video/digital recording equipment of any kind during the delivery procedure.

The arrival of a baby can be an exciting new experience. That's why we offer a variety of courses for parents-to-be and siblings. Even if you plan to have your baby at another hospital, you may prefer to attend classes at Henry Medical Center.

Let's Get Acquainted — a free hour-long class conducted by nurses from our labor and delivery unit includes a tour of the hospital and what to expect during your stay for the birth of your baby.

Prepared Childbirth — taught weekly by registered nurses who are also certified childbirth educators. The four-week course covers the stages of labor and delivery, breathing and relaxation techniques, medications, possible complications, cesarean sections and much more. A one day Saturday class is also offered.

Sibling Orientation Class — this class and hospital tour held monthly helps children ages 2 to 12 prepare for the birth of a new brother or sister.
