The Emergency Department at Henry Medical Center is open around the clock to treat serious injuries and medical emergencies. The specially trained staff includes doctors, nurses and technicians who offer high quality care when you need it most. Annually, our team of nurses and physicians treat more than 50,000 emergencies from minor cuts and bruises to life-threatening illnesses and injuries. Within the Emergency Department, a "fast track" for the treatment of lower-priority patients, such as those with the flu or respiratory infections, is available. Your Visit Upon arriving at the Emergency Department, a specially trained registered nurse will determine your problem and its severity. The triage nurse also obtains important medical information that will be given to the doctor and nurses who will be treating you. We understand that when you are sick or injured, no illness is more important than your own. Providing appropriate emergency treatment means that critically ill patients must be treated first. They may arrive through the reception area or through the ambulance entry. These patients must be seen before less serious cases. Before being released, the doctor or nurse will review written instructions for your follow-up care at home. We encourage you to ask any questions. We're here to provide quality care and that includes making you or your loved ones feel at ease. |
